Our first Lunar New Year performance is complete!
On January 11, 2025, we put a wushu demonstration for the variety show “Chinese Stories, Chinese New Year” at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.
Great job everyone. Many more to go…
This month marked the arrival of China's Zhejiang Wu Opera Research Center - they were visiting Canada for a series of performances around the Toronto area. These Wu Opera performers were putting on a show commemorating the story of the Monkey King (Sun Wukong) and its story Journey to the West.
On January 6, 2025, the troupe made their way to the Wayland Li Wushu Center and our athletes were introduced to the Wu Opera team’s tumbling and performances techniques. In exchange, we demonstrated our wushu weapon and jumping techniques. It was a fun and friendly exchange and we thank the delegates who organized the troupe’s visit to our school.
Congrats Lia on your gold medal performance 🥇 at the 2024 World Junior Wushu Championships in Brunei to become world champion of Group B Daoshu. Well done!
The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) selects all gold medal winners and shares their videos as part of the “online learning classroom.” We’re thrilled that the IWUF selected Lia in this regard.
